Stage tool + ACP

When the ACP is used during the 2 stage cementing the purpose is to create a barrier/support for 2nd stage cementing but does the ACP needs to be pressure tested to act as barrier or in this case would be just a support for 2nd stage? The idea is to do 2nd immediately after ACP is set.
